Get Ready for AAM’s Awards Season

It’s the AAM awards season. I am sure some of you, like me, watch the Grammys, for the incredible performances. And, even if you didn’t see it, how could you miss the snafu this year at the Academy Awards for Best Picture? While we won’t get that kind of coverage, the AAM-MAAs celebrate the work that our members have done over the past year. It is your opportunity to be recognized for your achievements in marketing.

Each year we look forward to seeing not only who has won, but what others have done as it gets our creative juices flowing. It gives us the opportunity to come back to our firm with some fresh ideas on a campaign we may do differently or a website that needs refreshing. We gain a new perspective as well as celebrate the work of our fellow marketers.

How to submit

A webinar was recently offered on how to enter a submission; the replay is available through the online store. The mechanics of how to enter are the same. You’ll need to fill out the entry form and put together an 11 x 8.5 poster. What is different this year is that we are encouraging you to enter early and often. Early bird submissions are $175 each and will be accepted until April 19 by 5:00 p.m. EST. After that date, your submission will cost $225. More information about the AAM-MAAs and the link to enter is on the AAM website. Entries will be accepted until April 28 by 5:00 p.m. EST. No entries will be accepted after that date.

Summit attendees will again receive an electronic booklet of the entries. If you did not attend the conference last year and would like to see the entries, the booklet is still available for purchase in the online store.

In other award news…

The Rookie of the Year nominations are now open. If you know an exceptional marketer who has been in the accounting marketing field for less than two years and has fewer than five years of work experience prior to entering accounting marketing, please consider nominating them for this award. They must be a current AAM member to be considered. Nominations close April 12 so nominate someone today.

I hope you will be able to join us on June 14 at the MGM Grand Las Vegas for the AAM-MAA celebration where we will honor AAM-MAA award winners and announce the Marketer of the Year – sponsored by Inside Public Accounting, Volunteer of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the Hall of Fame Inductee.

About Lauren Clemmer

Lauren Clemmer is the Executive Director for the Association for Accounting Marketing. Prior to becoming the director, Lauren was an active member, participating in the Membership Satisfaction committee and then as co-chair of Virtual Education which includes AAM High Webinars and Virtual Campfires. In her role as executive director, Lauren works with the with the board president, the executive committee and the board of directors to drive AAM’s vision and strategic plan. Her responsibilities include the general administration of all AAM business, managing vendor and partner relationships, enhancing member engagement and loyalty, and serving as the voice of membership.

Lauren gives back to her community as a member of the Women’s Board for the Boy and Girls Clubs of Cleveland.
